A family-owned restaurant, Benton Lee's Steakhouse has brought South Georgia the best steaks on famously big platters for over 38 years -- serving enormous portions that leave you satisfied, with a taste so good, so tender, you have to pull the reigns on yourself not to leave STUFFED.

Settled on the banks of the Altamaha River in Uvalda, Georgia, (just outside of Vidalia, home of the world-famous Vidalia Sweet Onion) Benton Lee's Steakhouse offers a "down home" atmosphere of fun and relaxation.

Founder Benton Lee Powell was blessed to have a business that spanned almost four decades, spawning a legend of large plates teeming with perfectly grilled slabs of beef. Benton Lee's fame has spread, as far as can be told -- and thanks to its patrons -- all over the United States.

Thank you, Benton Lee Powell for the celebrated traditions established at Benton Lee's Steakhouse.

On November 7th, 2006, Benton Lee's Steakhouse burned down due to a grease fire in the stove's brick chimneys. Did this mean that the legend of large plates with overly generous portions of steak, chicken and seafood grappling its edges had died? No...

New owners Vickey H. Tapley and Wayne T. Horton continue what Benton Lee Powell began some 40 years earlier. The new owners have rebuilt Benton Lee's Steakhouse edifice and promise the almost four decades of tradition remain alive within the new cypress walls of the widely renowned restaurant. Renovations, including a spacious deck overlooking the oak-lined Altamaha River, have been completed. Vickey H. Tapley and Wayne T. Horton christened the kitchen with the unmistakable sizzle of beef searing on hot grills Friday, November 9th, 2007, -- one year and two days after the devastating fire. Doors officially opened for family dining Monday, November 12th.

Hours:  Tuesday - Saturday  11:00 am to 9:30 pm, Closed Sunday and Monday
"We will open for private parties on Sunday and Monday"

Also in keeping with history, the faithful local customers have returned to us. The picture to the right is of our first customer that crossed the threshold of the front doors on the opening day. For years these faithful customers have supported Benton Lee's Steakhouse and they have been faithful to return to the traditions at Benton Lee's Steakhouse.

What a great blessing to the History of Benton Lee's for the faithful return of employees and customers. We at Benton Lee's Steakhouse, say thank you!

MMM! Steak. They're not big on salads & such. If you go there, you go there for steak. Biggest steaks around. Also, have everything in between, including gator!

Biggest and best steaks around at Benton Lee's. If your looking for a great steak then make the short drive to Benton Lee's and carry an appetite with you cause if you leave hungry its your own fault. there steaks are as big as cadillac hubcaps!

STEAK & PORK CHOPS are unbelievably good! Pool table section a little smoky, bathrooms mildly scary, but who cares!

"OH! MY! WORD! Our friends told us about Benton Lee's on a recent visit,
so when we passed back through, we had to go. Don't let the outside fool you, this is the ABSOLUTE BEST Steak & Pork Chops I've ever had (and we've traveled!) the Steaks are HUGE, the small I split with my husband, and his Pork Chop order, which came with 4 GIANT pork chops, we finished on the ride home the next day. I got the Sirloin on the recommendation of the server, and he was right! You can't beat the food or the prices, and you may just want to order some to take home! Don't fire up the grill when you have friends over, take them to Benton Lee's!! Great for larger groups too!” Andrea from Ocala, FL

The Biggest Steaks ever! Even a small can fill you up! It is somewhat of a "Redneck" establishment. “If you are looking for a good old' Hole in the wall to find you some of
the world's largest steaks, this is your place. It definitely doesn't look like much from the outside. In fact it's the only restaurant that I have ever been too that looks like 3 double-wide's welded together, and the first eating establishment that I have ever been too that you have to walk through a screen door to get inside. But don't judge a book by it's cover, this steakhouse is one of the best in all of the South, and you will
definitely leave satisfied. ” Daniel from Warner Robins, GA
